Here is Josiah’s first hit in the 2009 baseball season. Sure, today was only a scrimmage (opening day is Saturday), but mom is away and I thought she’d want to see his hit.
Vikings In The Ministry

About two weeks ago, we had our Volunteer Appreciation Evening, OVATIONS, for all Children & Youth Volunteers at our church. What a GREAT bunch of people! They have such a heart for wanting to see kids and teens come to know Christ.
For the evening, we made some parody videos to show our volunteers. They are a parody “spoof” of the Capital One Credit Cards with the vikings – you know the ones where they mess things up and at the end they say, “What’s in your wallet?” Well, here are our versions.

Overall, it was a good night spent with a bunch of WONDERFUL people.
Prayer – Beth’s Father
Posted by: | CommentsBeth’s father has emergency surgery this week for an internal hernia that “deadened” 3-4 feet of his lower intestine. That’s how much was black that they had to remove anyway.
The surgery went well and the doctor was please with the results.
But he is suffering from what they are calling ICU Delirium. He is confused, not sleeping well and is angry and agitated.
Prayers for him, the hospital staff and Beth’s family is GREATLY appreciated.
Angel Wars

Angel Wars is an animated adventure cartoon series that showcases the battles of angels – the good and bad angels. These good angels, led by the archangel Michael, battle to protect humanity from evil forces.
So far, I have watched the first two of the three DVDs. My boys have watched the first one.
Going into these movies, I was thinking that they would answer some questions on spiritual warfare at a kids level. So far, I don’t think it has. It hasn’t come out and explained why there are good and bad angels, or how these battles are happening.
But, I would say that it has helped to bring about discussion of the topic. We haven’t discussed it at length yet, but some questions have been asked and some discussions have taken place.
If someone likes action, swords and battles, I think they’d like this series. I know Josiah already has asked to watch the next one!
Easter Ballooning

Today will be my third. My third time twisting balloons for the West Shore Country Club’s Annual Easter Party for their families.
They really make this an event. The families all come dressed up, they can get their portraits taken, there’s someone singing some tunes and organizing some kids activities, two balloons artists, the Easter Bunny will arrive and then there’s an Easter Egg hunt. Oh yeah, they have lunch too!
It’s about time for me to get my balloons ready. I think I’m gonna need more white balloons for s few bunnies today.
Program Tonight

Tonight is Manheim BIC Church’s parent’s night and closing program for their club program. Jim Hess & I will be doing their closing program.
Jim will be doing a few ventriloquist acts and I’ll be doing some ballooning. It should be a fun night!
The hardest part for me as I’m getting ready for tonight is making sure that the program flows. I really don’t like it when things seem choppy and disorganized. I’m having a harder time than normal getting things to flow in my head for this program – and I’m not sure why. We’ve got some neat stuff planned, and I’m sure everyone will have a good time and learn some neat things, but I might need to tweak one or two things until the night is thru. We’ll see.
Well, I’m of to get some things ready for tonight!
